Schools in The Woodlands

Three public school districts serve The Woodlands. Most of the community is in Conroe ISD; Creekside Park is in Tomball ISD; the May Valley section of Sterling Ridge is in Magnolia ISD.

The community was planned around neighborhood schools, so many elementary campuses sit inside the villages, often within walking or biking distance on the pathways.

Always check the exact address. Attendance zones follow streets, not village lines, and districts redraw boundaries as enrollment changes. Look up any home on the district's own school finder before you write an offer:

Ratings

Texas rates schools A–F each year through the Texas Education Agency. Look up any campus at txschools.gov. Third-party sites such as GreatSchools and Niche are also widely used; read them alongside the state rating.

Enrolling after a move

  1. Confirm your zoned campuses on the district's school locator using your new address.
  2. Register online through the district's enrollment portal; most districts let you start before you close.
  3. Gather proof of residency (a closing statement, lease or utility bill), the student's birth certificate, immunization records, prior report cards or transcripts, and a parent ID.
  4. Ask your current school to send records, and note any special-education, gifted or language-support plans so services continue.
  5. Plan ahead for buses, before- and after-school care, and athletics or fine-arts tryouts, which can happen before school starts.

Texas public schools usually start in mid-August. Check each district's calendar for exact dates and holidays.

Creekside Park residents can also use nearby Harris County Public Library branches.

A note on school talk

As a Realtor, Tami can share where to find official school information, but can't tell you which school is "best" for your family. Visit the campuses, read the state reports and talk to parents.
